The department's biannual retreat was held at Unicoi State Park near Helen, Georgia, this year. A total of 88 faculty, graduate students, and research staff attended and participated in poster and oral presentations.
The 2024 BMB Professors Award for Academic Excellence went to Matthew Li, a Biochemistry & Molecular Biology major with a minor in Spanish. He is also the department's first graduating Double Dawg in Comparative Biomedical Sciences. His research mentor was Dr. Michael Terns, and his research…
The 2024 Sisodia-Patel Prize for Outstanding Research by an Undergraduate in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Graduation was awarded to Grace Watterson, who also minored in Statistics.
