Saanvikha Saravanan​ is the 2025 winner of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Faculty Award for Academic Excellence. The award recognizes a graduating senior majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for outstanding academic accomplishments. She also received an A.B.

The 2025 Sisodia-Patel Prize for Outstanding Research by an Undergraduate in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Graduation was awarded to Yeongseo Son, who also earned a B.A. degree in Anthropology and Certificate in Immunology.

Dr. Natarajan Kannan, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a member of the Institute of Bioinformatics, has been named a university Distinguished Research Professor.

Dr. Walter Schmidt, professor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, was one of three university faculty honored with a Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professorship. It is the university's highest honor for sustained excellence in teaching.

Dr. Ron Orlando, Professor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and member of the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center, has been named a Regent's Entrepreneur by the University of Georgia System.
