Johnathan Mayfield receives Graduate School Retention and Inclusion grant

On March 23 2022, Johnathan Mayfield (BGSA President and Wells’ lab) was awarded a Spring 2022 Retention and Inclusion Grant from the Graduate School, totaling $3,920. The program funds will be used to set up a peer-mentoring network aimed at matching pre-candidacy students with post-candidacy students as the students prepare for qualifying exams. The program funds will also be used to provide community building activities for the department. The program was developed and will be implemented by the Biochemistry Graduate Student Association (BGSA).
