Form to Submit Data for the Wampler/Wampfler Database |
iii. Contacts - A
Last update: 02/05/'04 |
Please use the format specified for each line.
This database is indexed using ID tags as described elsewhere. To link you data into the database we will need either the ID tag assigned to the individual or that of a relative. If you don't know how your data links into the database, the you may still submit data for the "set of Miscellaneous unlinked trees" page.
For complex entrees, for example multiple marriages, send multiple forms. In this case, even if a database ID tag has not been assigned it will be helpful if you assign an arbitrary numeric tag starting with the letters UK to each person and then fill in ONLY the lines of additional information rather than the full form.
In cases of new entries (not previously found in the database) you may want to start with the oldest ancestor and work forward in time through the generations. So, for example, if Uncle Walter is the oldest individual, give him the number UK1-1. If Uncle Walter is the son of an entry in the database, say [hg5-262] Floyd E WAMPLER, then by entering this information below in the section labled "Linking your entry..." you will also be linking the entire group of entries into the data base. His brother might then be UK1-2 and sister UK1-3, each with the link to Floyd, [hg5-262]. His three children would be given aribrary ID numbers UK2-1, UK2-2 and UK2-3, each linked to UK1-1. Their children would be the UK3 generation, etc. In this way the entire tree of entries is linked back to [hg5-262] Floyd and their lineage is clear.
