On Our First Issue:
It serves as great pleasure to me that I could be part of something as
exciting and novel as this journal. The Undergraduate Science Bulletin we feel is a
new way for the students of UGA to communicate those achievements that make our university
rise above the average. Thousands of papers are written in or for a class per semester and
those few that are the best end up in the same drawer with the rest. The students that
need the guidance and precedents in writing these papers never get to see the good
examples. In accomplishing both bettering the communication of excelling achievements and
helping those that need it is our goal with the journal, and we hope that everyone will
find a place in their heart for us.
I must mention the great support from faculty all over campus by
encouraging and cheering on the progress we have made, as well as assuring their future
support. Dr. John McDonald has helped us with his experience as an editor, which was
crucial in putting out a quality product. We also want to thank the Honors Program for all
of us that benefit from this journal and for assisting the Department of Biochemistry and
Molecular Biology in providing the necessary funds for making this possible.
Please let us know if you have any questions or comments at the address
in the Instructions to Authors. Thank you for reading our journal and we hope to see you
all next semester.
