BIOCHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY OF PARASITIC DISEASES
My laboratory is mainly interested in the molecular and biochemical basis of parasitic diseases. We are currently investigating several basic molecular pathways in African trypanosomes. These include RNA editing and trafficking, mitochondrial biogenesis and developmental control of gene expression. In addition, we are studying the mechanism of innate resistance of humans to trypanosomes and the mechanisms used by the parasites to circumvent human resistance.
HAJDUK LABORATORY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA
The Hajduk Lab moved to the University of Georgia in September, 2006. The lab is located within the Davison Life Sciences Building. The Hajduk laboratory is part of the UGA Center for Global Emerging and Tropical Diseases. If you are interested in joining the Hajduk laboratory as a research assistant, graduate student or as a postdoctoral fellow contact Steve Hajduk at shajduk@bmb.uga.edu or call at (706) 542-1676.
